Flounder Catching Aboard The "Ron Jo"
We started our yearly flounder fishing trip at 7:00 AM on May 21, 2004 with Capt. Royce Parks out of Quinsby, VA. Normally we have 6 anglers booked for this charter, but some last minute cancellations cut the number down to just 4.
There was some fog in the air with a light southwest wind blowing across the sandy flats when we departed. It wasn't thick enough to keep us from fishing and we started our first drift at 7:30 AM. Bill, John, Don and I scrambled for our favorite spots on the boat. This year I was stationed on the port side as far aft as possible. On my first drop after the captain said 'lines over' I had a nice flattie on. It was taken on the bottom hook where a piece of squid and large bullhead minnow were attached.
Thank John Keeler (board member) for giving me one of your 'special rigs'.

This is the 1st and largest flounder caught this trip.

A total of 25 flounders were caught, with 16 through-backs.
SPECIAL THANKS
To Capt. Royce Parks (757-442-9324) for another very enjoyable charter
flounder fishing trip. I'm already looking forward to next year's trip.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Tom Hughes
