Catching Quality Stripers with Friends
It wasn't until around 11 PM until Lew, Justin, and Devin knocked on my door at the Peacock Motel. They seemed somewhat weary after traveling 6 hours down the road to fish for striped bass at the CBBT. After telling them about the quantity and quality of stripers available they had trouble sleeping that night.
The water was 48 degrees at the CBBT on December the 16, 2004. We fished from 7AM until 5PM and many stripers were caught, tagged, and released to 41". We fished shoals, pilings, and natural rips between the eastern shore to the 4th Island. The most productive lure was a 7" Bass Assassin, Chartreuse/Glitter Assassin fished on a 1 ounce jig head. It was a very enjoyable trip as we left active fish when dark was upon us.
Justin is one happy angler.

This one Lew caught just north of the CBBT.
Taking along some friends always makes the trip more pleasurable.

Some kind words from Lew about this trip.
