Fly & Light Tackle Fishing the Upper Chesapeake Bay
Capt. Frank and I have been talking about fishing together for years. On Sunday, September 12, 2004 we finally did. I meet him at his dock on Stony Creek and we headed out with both fly and light tackle equipment.
On our way across the Patapsco River we ran into a nice school of stripers and enjoyed catching for a short period of time. We had to work hard, cover a lot of water (70 miles), and use both fly and spinning methods to catch a variety of fish. We ended up with 4 species; striped bass, bluefish, flounder and big white perch. We did have a trout on, as we both saw it (stay out of this one Reds), but it can’t be counted because it never made it into the boat.

Look for Capt. Frank and his wife at fly shows this year. They will be selling some outstanding flies made by Frank’s wife.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Tom Hughes
