Best Trip of the Year

As we passed Lazaretto Point on the Patapsco River, Ben put the throttles down on his 26’ Boston Whaler.  He was taking some guests out for an afternoon on the Chesapeake Bay to fish for striped bass.  Light spinning tackle and lures were the choice of the 4 anglers fishing.

We were looking for some quality striped bass, rather than quantity, and ended up getting both.  I was busy unhooking fish from the time we arrived until the time we left.  The total fishing time was approximately 3 hours.  All the stripers were released and all appeared to be healthy.

The most productive lure on Monday, August 9, 2004, was a Bass Assassins, 4”, Saltwater Sea Shad in Salt & Pepper Silver Phantom/Chart Tail fished on a 3/4 ounce jighead.
