We left Solomons Island at 6:00 AM on June 4, 2004. The Bay was flat as we crossed over to the eastern shoreline. Sandy and Josh were aboard and both were excited about catching some hard fighting fish. When we started the air temperature was warm with cloudy skies above. As the day progressed the wind shifted to the east bringing in cooler air and showers (cold front).
Croakers were selected by father and son as the species to fish for using light spinning tackle. It turned out to be and excellent decision. Croakers in sizes from 12” through 15” were caught in 75 degree waters 12 to 26 feet deep while drifting. Cut squid strips were the hot ticket when fished on hardware free top-bottom rigs with circle hooks.
Josh landing many croakers along with this double hook-up.

It was a very pleasant trip ending by shifting croakers between the boat and car coolers.
