Power Cats Expand Manufacturing Capacity
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Boat builder Twin Vee
Power Cats Inc. has responded to company growth by moving to a new, larger
manufacturing facility in Fort Pierce, according to a report yesterday from The Palm Beach Post.
The company spent $2.15 million in June to buy the 80,000-square-foot building, which was formerly a Lowe's store, and several hundred thousand more to make it into a boat building plant, the newspaper reported.
Twin Vee's former plant was 30,000 square feet and located in Port St. Lucie.
The company plans to add 20 employees now and hopes to add another 100 over the next 12 months, which would give it a total of 200 employees, according to the newspaper. This would allow Twin Vee to double production, making 1,200 boats a year.
The boat builder has been growing at a rate of about 40 percent for the past few years, founder Roger Dunshee told the newspaper, and its sales are expected to hit $10 million this year.
